Our third-party login services (Apple and Google) are implemented via Google Firebase Authentication. See Section 4 for details.
Profile Information: Information you actively provide, such as nickname, avatar, gender, birthday, personal signature, personal webpage, etc.
Content Information: Content you create, upload, publish, or store while using our services, including text, photos, videos, notes, etc.
Payment Information: When you purchase paid services, transactions are processed through official channels (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play). We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details. We only receive transaction identifiers and billing information related to the purchase.
Contact Information: Your email address and communication content when you contact us.
Device & Log Information: Includes device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFA, Android ID, GAID), IP address, browser type, access time, service usage logs, clickstream data, crash reports, etc.
Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to ensure secure operation, verify login status, and optimize your experience. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may impair some functionalities.
Usage Data: Statistical data on your use of features, such as frequency, duration, and preferences.
To provide specific features, we may request the following system permissions. You can always revoke these permissions at any time in your device's system settings.
Location: Used solely for location-based features (e.g., "People Nearby"). You can choose "Allow Only While Using the App."
Camera/Photos: For taking/uploading photos/videos and video calls.
Microphone: For sending voice messages and voice/video calls.
Storage: For caching data and saving content you download or create.
We strictly use your information for the purposes below, based on the corresponding legal grounds:
Performance of a Contract: To provide, maintain, and improve our core product features and services.

License Granted to Us: To provide and optimize the service, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, modify (only for technical processing like format conversion), publicly display, and distribute your User Content within the Platform. This license is limited to purposes necessary for operating the Platform.
Content Moderation: We employ a multi-layered system ("automated review + manual review + user reporting") to monitor and address illegal or non-compliant content (e.g., pornography, violence, harassment, intellectual property infringement) 24/7. We may take actions such as warnings, feature restrictions, or account suspension/termination.
To ensure app stability, provide core functionalities, and enhance user experience, our application integrates certain third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs). These third-party service providers may collect and process information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We carefully select partners and require them to handle your information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The main integrated third-party SDKs and their purposes are as follows:
A. Google Firebase
Provider: Google LLC
Purpose of Processing: Analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, cloud messaging (push notifications), and user authentication (handles the technical process for Apple and Google third-party login).
Types of Information Collected: Device identifiers (Android ID, IDFA/GAID), app instance ID, crash traces, performance data, approximate location (based on IP), authentication tokens (for login), basic profile info (name, email) from Apple/Google login (as you choose to share).

Purpose of Processing: Attribution analytics (measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns), fraud prevention, and data analytics.

D. Google Cloud Translation API

Purpose of Processing: In-app text translation services to support multilingual communication.
Types of Information Collected: Text content submitted for translation, and approximate location (based on IP, to help infer source language). Note: We configure the service to not retain user translation data beyond immediate processing.

Control and Consent: For SDKs that collect device identifiers for advertising or analytics purposes (such as Adjust and AppsFlyer), we will obtain your explicit consent via a permissions pop-up upon first launch or before the relevant functionality is triggered, in accordance with platform guidelines (like Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework). You can manage your consent settings in your device's system settings.
Third-Party Login: When you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, the authentication process is handled by Firebase Authentication. We only receive the basic profile information (e.g., user ID, name, email) that you consent to share with us through that service's standard permission screen. We do not have access to your Apple ID or Google account password.
Data Sharing: We only share information necessary for these SDKs to perform their functions. They are prohibited from using the shared information for any other purposes.
Review Policies: We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party providers to understand their data practices.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only under the following strictly limited circumstances:
With Service Providers and SDK Providers: As detailed in Section 4, we share necessary information with partners who provide us with services such as data analytics (e.g., Google Firebase, Adjust, AppsFlyer), messaging (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging), user authentication (Firebase), translation (Google Cloud Translation), payment processing, and cloud storage. These providers can only access information necessary for their services and are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
For Legal Compliance & Safety: When we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with laws, regulations, court orders, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or ourselves (e.g., to investigate fraud or address security threats).
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we may transfer your information, requiring the recipient to adhere to this Policy.
Retention Period: We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by law. After this period, we will delete or anonymize your information.

Access & Correction: Request access to and a copy of your personal information, and correct inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information under specific conditions (e.g., if processing is unlawful, you withdraw consent).
Withdraw Consent: Change your privacy settings, opt-out of push notifications, or revoke granted device permissions and tracking consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Account Deactivation/Deletion: You have the right to permanently delete your account and associated data.
How to Delete Your Account: You can initiate account deletion directly within the app by navigating to: "Settings" -> "Account & Security" -> "Delete Account". You will be guided through the verification process and informed of the consequences.
Consequences of Deletion: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. It will result in:
Permanent loss of access to your account and all associated data within [Melovt].
Removal of your profile, all published content (posts, comments, photos, videos), chat histories, and connections.
Inability to restore any of the above information.
Cancellation of any active subscriptions (future charges will stop, but no refunds for past periods).
Processing Time: After verification, the account deletion process will be completed within 15 business days. During this period, you may cancel the request by contacting us.
Exceptions: We may retain certain information for a longer period if required by law (e.g., transaction records for financial compliance) or for legitimate business purposes like security, fraud prevention, or resolving disputes. Such retained information will continue to be protected according to this Policy.
Responding to Requests: For security, we will verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond to legitimate requests within 15 business days or as required by applicable law.
Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the higher age of consent in your jurisdiction). If we discover we have inadvertently collected a child's personal information, we will delete it promptly. We have established strict minor protection mechanisms and prohibit any content or behavior harmful to minors' physical and mental well-being.
Our services may contain or link to third-party websites, products, or services. This Policy applies only to information we collect. It does not apply to any third-party services or their information practices (including the SDK providers listed in Section 4). Prohibited Conduct: Strictly prohibit users from establishing inappropriate contact with minors, sending inappropriate messages, deceiving minors into providing personal information, or engaging in harassment, bullying, or exploitation of minors.
Technical Safeguards: Utilize advanced content recognition and behavior analysis systems, implement strict age verification, and conduct 24/7 content monitoring.
Reporting & Response: We provide accessible reporting channels. Upon identifying relevant violations, we will take immediate action (e.g., account suspension, content removal) and, where appropriate, report to national child protection centers or law enforcement as required by law.
Age Restrictions: We do not allow apps targeting children but containing adult themes, such as excessive violence, promotion of self-harm, or negative body image portrayal.
